I just got paged because one of our web apps had a high error rate. Turns out, someone was scanning it (but very slowly) and since traffic was low, it was tossing out tons of 404s. Performance was not affected.

On the backend, whenever it can't find an account, they throw and exception in code, which logs as a 500. Our monitoring picks that shit up. Third night in a row I was paged for no reason.
